Phil finally admits that he’s actually looking at life in prison leaving Kat floored – but she vows to stand by him.

And not wanting to put her in harm’s way, Phil fails to give her the full picture and leaves out the informant deal offered by DCI Keeble.

  • Nina Lucas kidnaps girlfriend Asha Alahan

In an upcoming episode of Coronation Street, scheduled to air next week, Asha confides that she wants to apply to Glasgow University but her father Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) is surprised to find out that she’s having second thoughts.

Asha is then handed a guide book for Glasgow by her father Dev, headed to Daniel’s flat to take a look at a leaky sink.

The prospectus is spotted in Asha’s bag by Nina.

But while she may have expected a harsh reaction from her, Asha is pleased to see that Nina encourages her to enjoy a day out in Glasgow, putting on a brave face.

However, Nina is overcome with an irrational fear upon hearing that there are floods to be expected in Glasgow and shares her worries over Asha’s train journey with Roy.

It soon becomes clear that Nina’s fears are more than separation anxiety as Nina is genuinely frightened for Asha’s safety.

Yet in her concern, Nina turns to an unexpected extreme when Asha calls in at the café to see her before setting off to Glasgow.

Soon, Asha is shocked beyond belief to see that Nina has pocketed her phone but it soon becomes too late.

  • Fans left swooning over ‘sexy’ new character on EastEnders

BBC viewers were treated to hunky delivery driver Henry, who flirted up a storm while he delivered a package to Karen Taylor.

Appearing in not one but two scenes, viewers were left feeling hot under the collar at the handsome new arrival.

Soap fans have begged bosses to make the new stud a regular character after his impressive debut.

One wrote: “Make the Australian delivery man a regular! #EastEnders

    Another agreed: “He’s seriously hot.”

  • Dawn Taylor rocked as ex Alex returns

In an upcoming episode of Emmerdale, due to air next week, Dawn will eventually find her perfect venue when Kim Tate (Claire King) offers her Home Farm.

All is well for Dawn… until a familiar and unwelcome face returns to the village.

Dawn’s excitement is halted when her ex-boyfriend Alex (Liam Boyle) arrives in the Dales, amid her doomed wedding fears.

Yet, soon, an alarmed Dawn is approached by a pleading Alex who wants nothing more but a civil conversation with her about his previous actions.

ITV viewers remember all too well Alex’s botched abduction attempt.

Back in December, 2021, Dawn’s Christmas festivities were shaken up by Alex’s arrival in the village… just in time for serial killer Meena Jutla to stir up some trouble.

The nurse – portrayed by Paige Sandhu – has a fight to pick with Dawn and will even return to the Dales with revenge on her mind, as Billy put an end to their fling to patch things up with her.

  • Hollyoaks and Vera actor Joe McGann splits with wife

The TV star, who initially won legions of fans with his role in comedy The Upper Hand, has called time on his relationship with spouse Tamzin, whom he married in 2006.

The Sun Online can reveal Joe, known to Hollyoaks fans as soap villain Edward Hutchinson, is dating national campaigner Frances Molloy after they fell for each other during the first lockdown.

Joe often shares loved up snaps – via his Instagram – of them both out and about together.

In one, he hailed Frances as “my girl” and in another, showing the pair on a trip to London, he told how she was “my one.”

It was widely thought that Joe was still married to therapist and lifestyle guru Tamzin.

Yet Joe still has a snap of Tamzin on his Instagram feed – which was uploaded in 2015 – in which he describes her as ‘his heroine’.

The pair were also often spotted in Joe’s hometown of Liverpool.

  • Phil Mitchell makes shocking decision

In an upcoming episode of the BBC soap, the Walford baddie’s decision becomes clear as he meets with his ex-wife Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).

In scenes due to air next week, Phil passes on deeds for her to take care of Mitchell’s Autos, informally known as The Arches to every diehard EastEnders fan.

When Sharon asks why he chose her to take over his beloved business instead of his son, played by Max Bowden, he explains that the latter isn’t in a good way.

This wouldn’t be the first time Phil gives up his business as he already gave ownership rights to Sam Mitchell when he went to jail in 2003.

But while The Arches seem to have been left in Sharon’s hands, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) later reminds Phil that they need to tell the kids that they have gone their separate ways.

Phil decided to break up with Kat to spare her from any heartbreak.

The former couple claim that their break up was caused by a major obstacle: Phil is going to prison for a very long time.

  • Rhona Goskirk horrified as rapist killer Pierce Harris reveals he is dying

In an upcoming episode of the ITV drama, Rhona is chilled to the bone when a man shows up saying Pierce sent him to her.

The stranger gives her a letter and, despite Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) telling her to bin it, Rhona keeps it in her possession.

Vanessa was right to worry about Pierce’s eventual return in Rhona’s life as she was kidnapped by him upon his return.

Rhona eventually opens the letter and tells Vanessa that Pierce is dying.

However, the killer and rapist – rumoured to be another character’s father – has one shocking request and is demanding Rhona’s help.

In his letter, Pierce mentions he wants help to find his son.

Later on, Rhona admits to Vanessa that she checked with a prison liaison officer and they confirmed that Pierce’s days are numbered.

Rhona keeps Marlon in the dark but with no clue where to start in the search of Pierce’s son, she may need another character’s help in her quest.

But Vanessa, who lives in fear of Pierce after he held her and her son Johnny captive, is going above and beyond to convince her out of helping the criminal.

Will Rhona follow Vanessa’s advice and turn her back on Pierce?

  • Lack of awards

The battle for Best Soap at the Inside Soap Awards used to be hotly contested, with EastEnders scooping the gong every year from 2001 to 2014, bar two occasions when it was won by Corrie and Emmerdale.

However, in recent years, EastEnders has barely had a look in – with Hollyoaks beating them in 2019.

Corrie absolutely dominated at last year’s event – winning the awards for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Newcomer, Funniest Performance, Best Partnership, Best Storyline and Best Soap.

Emmerdale won Best Villain and Best Family, with EastEnders taking home an award that sounded like it was made just for showing up – Best Feel-good Moment.

They didn’t fare much better at the NTAs last year, with Corrie scooping the Serial Drama and Serial Drama Performance gongs.

  • Fans rip into ‘unbelievable’ hospital blunder on EastEnders

Baffled BBC One viewers swarmed over to social media branding the scene “unrealistic” and even insensitive.

For the past few weeks, Stuart has struggled to come to terms with his condition after he was diagnosed with male breast cancer.

In recent episodes of the long-running drama, the character portrayed by Ricky Champ finally opened up to his wife Rainie about his diagnosis.

But while the storyline attracted the attention of many viewers, some applauding the BBC soap for raising awareness around men with breast cancer, it has also ruffled a lot of feathers following last night’s episode.

During the instalment, Rainie and Stuart were offered “an emergency appointment” and were able to visit with an NHS specialist.

The latter explained that he could fit Stuart in the same week for surgery.

But off-screen, and as fuming EastEnders viewers at home noted, waiting times can often add up to weeks or even months.

Fans of the programme turned to Twitter and bashed the segment, one viewer admitting that the wait time were sometimes so long, some patients don’t even survive the illness.

“If EastEnders want to be realistic, cancer treatment takes months to get in the UK at the moment. My family lost someone because diagnosis and treatment took too long”, the viewer Tweeted.
